THE 2024 CROSSFIT OPEN AT CFSR
The first workout of the 2024 CrossFit Open will be released on Friday, 1st of March and we will be running the workout for members on Saturday, 2nd of March during class times.
This pattern will continue for 3 weeks in total as follows:
WEEK 2
Workout released: Friday 08/03
Workout run in the gym: Saturday 09/03
WEEK 3
Workout released Friday: 15/03
Workout run in the gym: Saturday 16/03
Note: You do not have to be officially signed up to come in on these Saturday sessions, they will still be run like regular classes, just with more people, fun vibes and crazy atmosphere. 🤩
Only difference is that you will have a judge for your workout, and equipment will be prioritised to the members (if need be) who have officially signed up to The Open.
WHAT IS THE CROSSFIT OPEN?
The Open is a online competition with a worldwide leaderboard.
Although it's the first step towards qualifying for the CrossFit Games, it's a community competition for everyone!
It doesn't matter what level you are, there's three different divisions:
RX'd - Doing the workouts as they're prescribed. This is the most challenging option.
Scaled - Not quite ready to tackle the workouts as written? No problem. The scaled division offers classic scaling options for many of CrossFit’s common gymnastics movements and includes lighter loading.
Foundation - Just started CrossFit or maybe this is your first Open? The foundations workouts are a great place to start.
The Open is a way to check in on your fitness, hold you accountable to moving forward and staying motivated for the upcoming year, accomplish personal goals, and celebrate with the community!

Do I need to commit to RX/Scaled only?
No, if you can RX one workout, and scale another workout, it still places you on the same leaderboard, they're just ranked slightly differently.
I'm not at my fittest, should I still complete?
100%! The Open is about having fun and pushing yourself with your community! Your current fitness levels don't matter. There will be a version of the workout for you. You will be doing this every year, and it's a great way to track your progress yearly!
What if I miss a week of The Open?
If you make 2/3, that's still more than 50%! Jump in when you can, missing 1 week won't be the end of the world.
